Your Dream Vacation is Here!!!
Finally it's Time to Enjoy Some You-Time
Here are some items to make it easier on you to enjoy your stay! Please note: Although we recommend these services because we have used them ourselves, we cannot be held responsible for their services nor any wrongdoings that may occur. No Plans Bahamas LLC in no way takes any cut from their services, we are only recommending them because we have enjoyed using them from own past experiences. First stop: Our villa…
The Perfect Surrounding
This is our second home and we only wish to rent it to those that will treat it like this is their second home as well, that is why we have so many repeat guests. Please note some rules we have to have…
- No Smoking nor Fires in the villa or on the premises. There is no fire department on the island. I have personally witnessed a home owner in Eleuthra almost lose their entire home because their last guest tossed a cigarette butt into the dry woods as they were leaving. They have a fire dept in Eleuthra. Long Island does not.
- Please note when turning on lights or fans use wall switches. NEVER PULL ANY FAN CORDS! We have had to replace entire fans prior to telling everyone not to pull the cords.
- Please turn off fans, lights and air conditioners when you are not in the villa.
- Please conserve water when possible. Water is a precious resource and collected only when it rains into our cistern. We leave each customer with plenty of water for their stay, however, should you overuse and run out of water, you are responsible for arranging and paying for additional water delivery from Clarencetown. This has only happened one time before when a guest left the water hose on outdoors. If you notice a toilet running or a dripping faucet, please email, call, or text us at once.
- Power Failure: please note, the water supply is pumped by electricity so in the event of a power failure, there will be no water. You will probably lose power sometime during your stay as this is the typical Bahamian way. We do provide flashlights for your convenience, however, batteries do not last long in salt water areas, so please note the batteries may or may not work in the flashlights. You may want to bring some batteries with you to have on hand just in case. And a word to the wise, you'll probably be able to get a one good toilet flush.
- Garbage: Garbage should be brought to the public dumpster next to the Salt Pond Mailboat dock. While you are here, you may want to stop in the yellow building in front of the Mailboat dock which is the tourist office or if you are around at 4:00, fishermen come in with their daily catches and they love to sell their fresh fish and lobster!
- Bugs: As with all island homes, care must be taken to prevent bugs from coming indoors. We have never had bugs and would like to keep it this way so our guests can enjoy a bug free stay. Please help us by keeping any food that can be refrigerated in the refrigerator and not leaving crumbs about the villa. Do not dump leftovers outside nor pour pop outside. Please take the trash bin out on a. regular basis to the dumpster by the mailboat dock in Salt Pond. I highly advise to put the garbage in the trunk of your car vs outside as bugs will infest it overnight. We rarely have mosquitoes, but no see'ums come out when the sun goes down for about one hour, they you are safe to go back outside. For this hour if you want to watch the sunset outside verses from inside the covered screen porch area, we recommend to bring bug repellent.
- Kayaks: Just a reminder if you filled out the contract to be able to use the kayaks, make sure to bring life jackets. We do provide paddles, but no life jackets. If a large wind takes you away, this may save your life. Please note: on the back side of the kayak there is a string to let the rudder down, if you choose to use this, make sure you bring it back up before you get into shallow water. Breaking off the rudder is a $500 expense and it is really hard to bring these things over from the USA.
- Telephone: Due to the everyone having a cell phone, we have disconnected our telephone. We do however have Internet and that means you will have access to free apps to call anywhere in the world. Try What'sApp or facebook messaging. Both allow you to call out from our villa for free! Everyone on the island has WhatsApp that I know. Even Presley's car rental and Locksley's Eco Tours below.
- Shoes: Due to the sand and the pickers that go onto shoes, please do not use shoes on the spiral staircase inside as they take the stain off the stairs and we don't want to have to redo this.
