Getting To Long Island

Plane, Private Boat, or Mailboat

By Airplane

Getting to Long Island by air is easy! There are many travel routes possible, but the two easiest ways via major airlines are to fly to Nassau (NAS) or Exuma International Airport (GGT). There are two airports located on Long Island, Deadmans Cay and Stella Maris Airport. No Plans villa is located a very similar distance from either airport, so you can fly into either.

From NAS, you will need to book seats to Long Island on Bahamas Air or Southern Air Charter. It is also possible to book a shared or private charter flight through Stella Maris Resort air service, or a private charter flight with Island Wings.

From GGT, there are no commuter services to connect to Long Island but the flight is very short so private flights with Stella Maris Resort air service or Island Wings are very reasonable.

It is also possible to fly by private plane or charter directly to Long Island from anywhere in the US! Stella Maris Airport has customs/immigration on site.

Connecting through Nassau

Most major airlines fly to Nassau. It is recommended to pick a flight that arrives by noon if you are connecting with Bahamas Air or Southern Air so you will have enough time to catch a flight the same day to Long Island. Stella Maris requests you have a flight that arrives by 2PM in the winter or 4PM in the summer.

When clearing immigration, follow the signs to the line marked Family Island Connections, these are generally shorter lines and will help ensure you have time to catch your flight to Long Island.

Connecting through Exuma

After landing in Exuma you will clear customs and immigration first. Once you walk out of the building, you will be shuttled to the private terminal to catch your flight with Stella Maris or Island Wings.
